Top 5 Python Frameworks To Learn for 2021

In the dynamic, fast-growing world of program design and development, keeping abreast with all python frameworks is almost impossible. There are so many of them, choosing what to learn in 2021 may be a difficult task. To narrow it down, I have selected the Top 5 python frameworks to learn. They are in order of popularity to make making a choice even more manageable.

Django, first released in 2005, has fast become one of the most widely used python frameworks around. It follows the Don’t Repeat Yourself (DRY) principle and has many unique features that other python frameworks do not have. Not only is Diango versatile, but it is also entirely scalable and fast.

Learning Django is not easy, but the benefits are worth it. Once you have mastered it, you can develop any application, no matter how big, with ease. To top it all, it includes all essential features by default, unlike other frameworks that provide them in different libraries.

Key Features

  • Can support built-in authentication
  • Has support for all well-known SQL databases
  • Has Object Rational Mapping
  • Updates are done regularly.
  • Supports several languages
  • It is a quick framework.
  • Has many libraries ready for use

The Flask python framework is second in popularity and is best to master first before attempting Django. Though it provides fewer features than Django, it is more flexible, faster, and easier to master. You need Jinja2 Template and Werkzeug WSGI toolkit to run Flask under the BSD license. Its design is lightweight, and it adapts easily to any development needs you may have.

Key Features

  • Fast debugger
  • An in-built development server
  • Has unit testing integrated support
  • It is compatible with the google app engine.
  • Great for simple designs
  • The learning process is easy
  • Documentation is well written.

While its popularity does not match the Diango framework, the Pyramid full-stack framework is just as robust. It takes the complexity out of developing both large and small web applications. It works on python 3, and a development team constantly improves, manages, enriches, and updates this framework.

Key Features

  • Impeccable URL generation
  • It is under constant development
  • Learning it is easy
  • Single file applications
  • Supports imperative and declarative configurations
  • It supports session storage
  • It has flexible extensions
  • Templating is text-based
  • Validation and generation are in HTML form.

Cherrypy is an open-source and functional microframework that has been on the scene longer than most python frameworks. It has a unique multi-threaded web saver, and it can handle anything like sessions and statics that any other framework can. Software developers that opt for CherryPy use the concepts of Object-Orientation Programming to make web applications.

Key Features

  • Has a built-in and flexible plug-in system
  • Processing of all content is static.
  • Can run several HTTP servers at the same time
  • Its configuration system is powerful.
  • Has its web server
  • Runs on any python supporting operating system
  • An on-site development team is available to provide user support.

Web2py is a compelling full-stack python framework, which is very easy to learn and use. It has its web-based IDE that has one-click deployment, a debugger, and more. It is important to note, however, that it has no configuration files for the project level.

Key Features

  • Has no configuration or installation needs
  • Runs on any web host that supports python 2.5-2.7 or Java+Python
  • Errors are logged and ticketed thoroughly.
  • It makes code reading and maintenance easy.

Out of all the python frameworks, I have made a selection of 5 that you can master in 2021. Not only are they all functional, but they also are likely to give you your desired result. While it may be tempting to dive straight to Django’s most popular, I would advise attempting more straightforward frameworks first. I am confident that you will develop effective programs that will meet your needs! Happy programming!
